Emma graduated from the University of Liverpool with a degree in Biomedical Science. She then went on to work in histology and cancer research at the Sheffield Northern General Hospital. Following on from this, she moved into the pharmaceutical industry where she specialised in Cardiovascular Medicine and Diabetes.
Emma took 2 years out to travel the world before joining the Healthier Weight team in 2008. This included touring Asia, Indonesia, Australia and New Zealand before embarking on an overland trip of South America and Africa. This included working within the local community and improving school facilities. This was a challenging but fantastic experience. Emma is a very patient focused member of the team who has a good relationship with all her patients. Having had weight issues in the past, Emma is very understanding and can speak from experience. Emma still enjoys travelling, outdoor activities and swimming.
Emma started her life with Healthier Weight as a Patient Care Co-ordinator. Her empathy and professional approach in dealing with patients before their procedure made her very popular. Emma's promotion to Patient Care Manager now means that she will use all of her skills, knowledge and experience to look after patients' needs post-procedure, giving her a unique understanding of the patient journey.
