Claire Clarke Senior Bariatric Nurse Consultant
Claire has had over 17 years nursing experience, the majority of which has been in intensive care. She has looked after gastric band and bypass surgery patients and is responsible for co-ordinating the aftercare programmes for all our surgical patients.
Health Educators
Stuart Ingram MSc
Stuart graduated from the University of Edinburgh and gained a Masters degree from the University of Leeds before going on to work for a National Representative Body in Sport. Following a round the world trip in 2004 and a short spell living in Australia, Stuart gained further experience as a publicist for a well known UK charity. He joined the Healthier Weight Centre in Manchester in 2006 and is a keen runner, mountain biker and snowboarder.
Jane Michel BA
After graduating from Durham University, Jane pursued a career in publishing. Following several years at the BBC, she broadened her experience beyond the media and worked with a number of smaller literary houses. After starting a family, she embarked upon a career change and qualified as a Personal Trainer with FITPRO in 2003. Jane's range of PT qualifications include Nutrition and Exercise Prescription for Weight Loss. She has trained a variety of people whose needs have ranged from marathon running, competitive skiing, injury rehabilitation, cardiovascular, muscular strength and resistance, pre and post natal exercise, back care, core stability and weight loss. Like our other health educators Jane "walks the talk" and is an avid exerciser herself.
Michelle Palmer BSc
Michelle graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science. She completed her internship at Sports Rehab and Physiotherapy in Kansas where she specialized in Orthopaedic PT in both an inpatient and outpatient setting. After graduating from University, she moved to Chicago where she pursued a career change for several years. She recently moved to London and decided to use her knowledge and experience in the health field to help others achieve their personal best. Michelle works out with a personal trainer 2-3 times a week and enjoys running on the weekends.
Sandy McLeod BN MSc
Sandy trained as a nurse and health visitor with clinical and community experience. She previously worked with patients in a smoking cessation programme and has also worked in educational and academic institutions. Sandy holds a masters degree in research methodology. Sandy is our most experienced health educator. Sandy runs twice a week and is also a qualified Pilates teacher.
