Claire Clarke
Senior Bariatric Nurse Consultant

Claire has had over 17 years nursing experience, the majority of which has been in intensive care.  She has looked after gastric band and bypass surgery patients and is responsible for co-ordinating the aftercare programmes for all our surgical patients.  Claire is also responsible, with Dr Ashton and Stuart Ingram, for the delivery of gastric band training to NHS nurses and nurses from other private hospital groups who attend our gastric band training days.

Carla Rogers
Bariatric Nurse

Carla has over 11 years nursing experience. After graduating in Liverpool, Carla moved to London to work at Guys and St Thomas Hospital in A&E and HDU. Following a backpacking trip around the world in 2003, she moved to Saudi Arabia where she worked for 4 years as  a Trauma Nurse and Life Support instructor. Now settled back in the UK, Carla joined the team in 2009 and, with Claire, offers expert aftercare support to Healthier Weight patients.

Stuart Ingram MSc
Clinical Trial Lead and Health Educator

Stuart graduated from the University of Edinburgh and gained a Masters degree from the University of Leeds before going on to work for a National Representative Body in Sport. Following a round the world trip in 2004 and a short spell living in Australia, Stuart gained further experience as a publicist for a well known UK charity. He joined the Healthier Weight Centre in Manchester in 2006 and is a keen runner, mountain biker and snowboarder.  Having started as a Health Educator, Stuart is now head of our Clinical Trials Unit and an accomplished presenter on our gastric band training days.

Behnoush Ahranjani
Scholarship Student

Behnoush joined the Healthier Weight team in 2008 as a research assistant. Her scholarship project is to evaluate the factors associated with success of gastric banding carried out in the Centre.
