Healthier Weight (the
trading name for Weight to Go Ltd) is exclusively devoted to the management of
overweight and obese patients. No other healthcare organisation in Europe provides such a comprehensive range of obesity
surgery and weight loss programmes.
The company was formed in 2005 by Dr David Ashton
after life long interest and five years intensive research into effective
weight management models from around the world.
The underlying philosophy of our service was that;

regarded primarily as a health

- The environment was
having a huge impact on an individual’s ability to control his/her weight
- Managing weight in
today’s environment, therefore, was a skill to be learned
- Everyone has the capacity
to change
The
Healthier Weight Medically Supervised Weight Loss Programme was established
first. This programme is highly
structured, decision free for participants (because it uses nutritional
products so there is no anxiety about what to eat) and easy to follow. It lasts for 10 weeks and concentrates on the
behaviours needed for long term weight loss.
The emphasis is highly practical – i.e. on what can be achieved
realistically by people in their daily lives rather than a theoretical model.
To
increase product compliance and improve weight loss results we decided to
manufacture our own range of Weight to Go™ nutritional products to include shakes, soups, meals
and energy bars. As the British taste
for locally sourced, good quality ingredients has grown we have responded by
providing delicious portion controlled meals made with the finest ingredients,
sourced from small scale specialist producers and carefully prepared using the
most advanced cooking methods.
Although
we have had patients lose up to 15 stones and more on the Weight Loss
Programme, there is undoubtedly a group of people who are unable to achieve
such success. For those with more
serious weight problems we have developed an outstanding surgical programme
using only a handful of elite surgeons to ensure optimal outcomes. We can quite confidently say that we offer
the most comprehensive range of surgical interventions in Europe.
Company Investors
Weight
to Go (WTG) Ltd has invested significant time and money developing the
necessary infrastructure to provide such a comprehensive weight management
service. We have been extremely
fortunate to have financial backing from a group of very powerful private investors
and have thus not had to rely on venture capitalists. The two main investors are Charles Auld, ex
Chairman and Chief Executive of BMI Healthcare, the largest private provider of
healthcare in the UK
and Mr Charles Peel, founder of Peel Hunt Stockbrokers and a well known and
respected city figure. Both sit on our
Board of Directors and their support and guidance is highly valued.
All
