We are pleased to work with Mr Ameet Patel, a highly experienced bariatric surgeon who has performed over 3000 surgical procedures. Mr Patel operates for Healthier Weight in our London Hospitals and is on the GMC Register.

A Profile of Mr Ameet Patel

Mr Ameet Patel qualified as an M.D from St Georges Hospital, London in 1985 and went on to train in surgery in the UK, USA and Australia (notably under the tuition of Mr George Fielding who has an international reputation in obesity surgery).

He was appointed Consultant Surgeon at Kings College Hospital, London in 1999, a post which he still holds today.

Mr Patel is highly experienced in obesity surgery, having performed more than 3000 surgical procedures, 90% of which have been laparoscopic.

• Regularly invited to train other surgeons on laparoscopic gastric banding

• Gives live link demonstrations of laparascopic surgery tehniques eg Roux-en-Y gastric bypass surgery (2004, 2007)  and Gastric Banding (2006 )

• Has published many obesity related articles in medical journals eg Obesity Surgery, Annals of Surgery, British Journal of Surgery and Diabetes & Vascular Disease Research
