Biography of Mr Jamie Kelly
Mr Jamie Kelly was appointed as consultant surgeon at Southampton University Hospital NHS Trust in 2008 following a 2 year fellowship in Australia. He has received extensive obesity surgery training in the UK and abroad and has become a well known and respected bariatric surgeon, specialising in gastric banding, gastric bypass, sleeve gastrectomy and revisional procedures. He has also pioneered new endoluminal (non-surgical) procedures such as POSE and Endobarrier and is internationally recognised as a leader in this field.
Mr Kelly joined the elite group of Healthier Weight surgeons in 2011 and operates from the Nuffield Hospital, Southampton. We are delighted that our patients along the south coast can now benefit from his expertise and professional care.
Single Incision Laparoscopic Surgery (SILS) - Mr Kelly, in conjunction with Healthier Weight, is the only surgeon on the south coast performing a single incision gastric band prcedure through the umbilicus. This method of gastric banding offers a better cosmetic outcome and less post-operative pain.
