• Developed and standardized the surgical technique for the laparoscopic adjustable gastric band (LAP- BAND) with Dr Guy-Bernard Cadiere in September 1993. The technique has been adopted worldwide by most surgeons using the LAP-BAND
  
• Experienced in laparoscopic gastric surgery (over 5000 patients operated upon with excellent results) and laparoscopic functional surgery of the stomach (Nissen fundoplication)
