The 4 Week Children's Weight Loss Programme
The Healthier Weight children’s weight loss programme was developed by Dr David Ashton MD PhD, weight loss expert and founder of Healthier Weight. The programme was originally created to help young obese patients to lose weight before undergoing weight loss surgery. This is important because losing weight before surgery is a good barometer of success post surgery. We know there are many parents with overweight or obese children for whom surgery is not an option they wish to consider and it is these parents/children the weight loss programme is designed to serve.
The Child's Objective: To lose at least 5% of their body weight in 4 weeks in a healthy, sustainable way
How does it work?
Facilitated by a qualified nutritionist with specialist
training with adolescents, Healthier Weight’s 4 week programme comprises
a series of weekly calls that addresses the causes of overweight and
obesity. The programme provides a set of skills and tools that will
enable the parent and child to take control of their diet, exercise and

In addition to facilitating the programme Healthier
Weight can also supply the patient’s entire diet for the 4 week period.
Most patients will take this option in order to reduce the risk of
unwanted calories creeping into their diet.
