Need Weight Loss Inspiration?
In November 2002, Robert came along to our clinic seeking help to lose weight. He had a long-standing weight problem, stretching back well into his schooldays. It is a date he says he will never forget…
On his first visit, Robert weighed 30st 13.5lbs. He was suffering from several obesity-related medical conditions including hypertension (high blood pressure) and was on regular medication. Breathlessness, joint pains, headaches, gout, ankle swelling and general fatigue were all symptoms that Robert was experiencing and they could all be directly attributable to his weight.
We are delighted to report that over the course of the next year Robert was extremely committed to working with us on our weight loss programme and managed to lose an amazing 16 stones. His blood pressure is now within normal limits and doesn’t require medication. He has changed from a man who could not walk across the factory floor without getting breathless into a keen cyclist, rambler and ballroom dancer!
So how is it that a man has managed to lose over half his body weight and maintain that loss? It is because from the outset, Robert had an insight into his weight problem. He was willing to confront his behaviour and he was prepared to make the necessary commitment to change his lifestyle.
Robert also enjoyed the educational component of our weight loss programme on various aspects of nutrition, physical activity and much, much more. What he also received at Healthier Weight was the additional help to lose weight and support needed to achieve his weekly weight reduction goals and keep him focussed. Above all, his weight loss was achieved within the context and safety of a medically supervised programme.
We are not only extremely delighted with the successful outcome for this particular patient but also proud of his fantastic achievement. It has been a delight for all of us to work with Robert and he deserves every moment of pleasure that he is enjoying in his “new life”.
Robert and his old dancing partner subsequently married and we have had the pleasure of seeing them over the last few years.
