In 2011 we conducted a review of the last 50 patients to have a gastric band procedure performed by Professor Franco Favretti, Surgical Director at Healthier Weight. All patients were two years post-op.
When Healthier Weight patient results were compared with the 2006 study by O’Brien et al, generally regarded to represent best practice across international clinics, we see that our patients lose more weight than the norm.
Healthier Weight Patient Results
- Patients lost an average of 57.3% of their excess weight loss (EWL) after 2 years (52% is the norm)
- A proportion of patients lost 100% of their excess weight within 2 years
- The average mean weight loss at 2 years was 3st 11lbs
