- There was a 32% increase in the number of patients in paid work
- The weekly hours worked increased from 30.1 to 35.8
- Fewer patients claimed state benefits
- There was a decrease in obesity-related physical and emotional constraints on their ability to do work
This indicates that weight loss surgery can be self-funding. So, when you weigh up the health and quality of life benefits with the financial cost, the cost may not be as high as you first imagined.
