Introducing Our Newest Specialist Bariatric Surgeon - Mr Brij Madhok
We are happy to introduce are newest surgeon to Healthier Weight, Mr Brij Madhok who will be operating out of Manchester Pines Hospital. With years of experience in Upper GI surgery Mr Madhok specialised in weight loss surgery to help change lives in ways that go beyond just cosemetic apperance.
Mr Madhoks History
Mr Madhok qualified in Medicine in 1999 with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degrees from Maharaja Sayjirao University of Baroda, India.
He underwent extensive surgical training mainly in different hospitals in Yorkshire and completed the prestigious bariatric fellowship at Sunderland, which was approved by the Royal College of Surgeons, England. He is a substantive NHS Consultant at Royal Derby Hospital.
His More Than Just Weight Loss Surgery Moment
At the Healthier Weight we are all about celebrating more than just moments for both patients and surgeons. We asked Mr Brij to tell us his more than just moment and he shared the heart warming story of a patient who struggled to start a family before weight loss surgery. A couple of years later she was back in his office with a newborn, thanks to the gastric sleeve she was able to get pregnant and finally become a mum just like she always dreamed.
