Chris's gastric sleeve story

After our interview with gastric sleeve patient Chris last summer, and hearing about his plans to run the London Marathon this year, we've caught up with him a year later and another 2 stone down!

In our interview with Chris last year, he talked about his struggles to lose weight after trying every diet in the book. The depression and health issues were the starting point for him to take back control of his life, which was when he reached out to Healthier Weight. "The
realisation that I had to lose weight happened when I had a heart scare ten years ago. Ever since I can remember I have been on diets and still couldn’t shift the pounds. It's been two years now since I made the decision to have Bariatric Surgery, this involved having 80% of my stomach removed. The operation took place in September 2016, since then I have lost over 12 stones of excess weight."

In the last two years Chris has taken up going to the gym, running, and cycling. He completed the London Marathon on Sunday 22nd of April in under 6 hours. We couldn't be more proud to support Chris's amazing achievements and a fantastic cause close to his heart.

Chris's Just Giving page will be up until the 29th of April. All donations will be greatly appreciated. If you're able to help us support Chris then please visit https://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/chrishoutris
