I am writing a double blog this week as I have been away.
Just before my holiday I managed to get down to 16st 6lb! However on holiday I did drink copious amounts of Pina Coladas and also ate a lot of ice cream as the temperature hit 36 degrees most days so I expected to put on a few pounds. To try and counteract it I got up at 7.30 most mornings and swam lengths in the pool before it got busy. Luckily I had only put on a pound by the time I got back so nowhere near the damage done as there was after America!
I absolutely love swimming and found that no matter how bad my hangover was or how tired I felt, the minute I got out of the pool I felt wide awake and energised! As a result I have kept it up since getting back. My local pool is on my route to work and they do an early bird swim session from 6-9am on weekdays and I have been this morning before work and it was brilliant. It was a lot busier than I thought it would be, it was organised into three lanes, slow, medium and fast and I went into the medium lane. You swam the lane clockwise down one way then up the other. Because it was busy there was no opportunity to stop for a break like I had done in Spain so you had to keep up with the person in front. I swam for 30 minutes solid at quite a decent pace and I feel great for it! I have roped my mum into doing it with me so we are now going to go Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings. It’s a bit annoying that it means I will be arriving at work with wet hair and no make up most days but it will be worth it!
They do a deal for £26 a month that includes unlimited gym and swimming so I am signing up to that so I have a choice, especially as I don’t think I will fancy swimming when the weather is colder. At weekends I will continue horse riding and I am excited to see what difference it will make to my weight loss.
I am about to do shopping so that I can pre-prepare my meals again next week.
