My gastric sleeve story: Week 3

It's been a bit of a strange week for me, my weight stayed the same and I also found I didn't have as much "restriction" as I had previously.

I had started to panic that the operation hadn't worked properly and I wasn't going to lose any more when I got a call from a nurse at Healthier Weight to see how I was getting on. I explained my fears to her and she spent time talking to me about the food I had eaten throughout the week and reassured me that I was eating perfectly fine and that it was down to my stomach healing and not being swollen that I found eating more comfortable. She also explained to me that it is very common to have a couple of weeks of good weight loss and then plateau for a week or two whilst my body adjusted so this was very reassuring.

She recommended I start taking multivitamins now, I have struggled to find a chewable one that is suitable for vegetarians so have settled for dissolvable ones from Tesco but i will check these are ok when I next speak to my healthier weight nurse.

All of my wounds are now completely healed and have really faded, I don't think I'm going to have even a small scar within a month or two as I can barely see them now!

It's great to be driving again, I'm making the most of having more energy and getting out and about. I find I am in a constant good mood since the op, although I have a way to go, it's such a great feeling knowing I've taken a major step towards changing my life and even though I am not where i want to be weight wise yet, I know it will happen now whereas previously it would be a constant black cloud in my mind.
