After obtaining his higher surgical qualifications Prof Senapati worked and studied in America, Australia and Japan as a Surgical Fellow, further enhancing complex upper GI and bariatric skills.
Prof Senapati has presented across the UK and the world and has published many papers in peer-reviewed journals. He is currently an Honorary Senior Lecturer at University of Manchester. He's also a member of DORN (the Diabetes and Obesity Research Network) and CRG (Clinical Reference Group) member for obesity in England.
Prof Senapati has specialised in bariatric surgery (gastric band, bypass, sleeve) as well as anti-reflux surgery, laparoscopic gall bladder surgery, laparoscopic gastric cancer surgery, ambulatory bariatric surgery, and day case surgery. He is based at Salford Royal Hospital, which is the regional centre for Upper GI and Bariatric surgery and is available for a Healthier Weight consultation at both the Alexandra Hospital and The Beeches in Cheadle.
